Fiji
In the 1990's, Phil Spence was invited to participate in a large leadership training school in Fiji. He trained 155 participants who subsequently went out to establish community hubs across the nation. Many years later in 2021, Phil was invited to reconnect with this network of leaders to provide mentoring and fresh strategies for their future.
His Story
Penioni Ravunawa is the leader of the network in Fiji. He is a dentist by profession and until recently held a high ranking position in the Fiji Health Department. In 2022 Penioni successfully contested a seat in the national elections and now holds a position in Shadow Cabinet. Phil Spence and Penioni have been in discussions regarding the future training needs of the nation.
In addition to his connection with Penioni, Phil has longstanding connections with leaders of the Fijian community in Australia.
