To shift from a beggar mindset to that of a son is all about the heart. A beggar has a heart for himself and his well-being. A beggar is self-focused and has a survival mentality. A beggar’s heart is not firstly toward his Heavenly Father or his spiritual father.   The Bible says, ‘First the natural, and then the spiritual’ (1 Corinthians 15:46). The three stages that I have just mentioned apply to spiritual fathers and their sons in the faith.

When sons are young and immature, a father supports them throughout their years of growth to adulthood. Once they become an adult, they are responsible for themselves and their own families. Then they mature into a season where they support and care for the father who once supported them.   The Bible says, ‘First the natural, and then the spiritual’ (1 Corinthians 15:46). The three stages that I have just mentioned apply to spiritual fathers and their sons in the faith.

Over the past few decades of life and ministry, I have had hundreds of ministries from many nations reach out to connect with me. Some ministries ask for money for their family, ministry, or orphanage in the first conversation. I have learnt that these people will never be true sons because they are beggars.
