When Jesus said, ‘Follow Me’ He was speaking with the authority of a King.

He had established the context of His mission in the timing of God. He had declared that the Kingdom had become a present reality, and He had told them they could enter the Kingdom through repentance and faith.

Now Jesus was issuing a command which would rally a body of people to ultimately impact the world as they knew it. Jesus knew that not everyone would obey His command, but those who do will enter the Kingdom and take up the mandate of the Kingdom of Heaven here on Planet Earth.
